  • studies of Physics at the University in Hamburg, Germany, until 1996
  • experimental diploma thesis at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg in the field of technical ceramics
  • doctorate at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg in the field of material sciences, specifically, experimental studies of the failure behaviour of piezoelectric functional ceramics under electrical and mechanical loads; use of such functional ceramics for example in multilayer actuators for actuating injection valves in combustion engines or as control elements
  • several months of research stay at the University of California, Santa Barbara for several months to investigate the failure of functional ceramics (funded by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD)
  • professional training as German Patent Attorney in Munich along with accompanying studies at the Distance Learning University based in Hagen, Germany
  • in 2003, admission as German Patent Attorney and representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante
  • since 2004, admitted representative before the European Patent Office

  • in 2011, admission as German Patent Attorney and as representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) following the professional training by Dr. Heyer
  • in 2012, work as IP manager in the patent department of an international company
